Ladies (and gents), let’s be real, when going through our health and fitness journeys we tend to obsess in some way. Whether it’s the diet type we chose, how many macros/calories we intake, is 5 days a week at the gym enough, etc etc. Yes, I have been super guilty of this on and off over the past year since I started my journey. But one thing I have learned over this past year is to live a little, and yes you can have a piece of the damn cake!
One thing that always made me nervous about dieting was not being able to live life a little bit. And after months of restricting myself from sweets I crashed hard around the Christmas holiday (I mean, let’s face reality 🤷🏻♀️ Everyone wants to give you sweets when you‘re a teacher). I over indulged because I craved it so bad once I had some sweets again. Once that happened I decided to get back on track but after scrolling through Instagram I read a super important post that basically stated depriving yourself of what your body wants will make your diet useless. I am here to say that is so true!
You can have a piece of the cake, have that chocolate bar, have that long awaited beer after a hard day. Just keep in mind to work it arojnd your macros and calories. You do not need to go for a super long run or work crazy hard at the gym the next day. Simply drink lots of water and move on! I promise it will make sticking to your diet overall a success!
PS...the attatched Photo is from this morning, after celebrating my grandpops 80th birthday. So basically a slice of pound cake and couple beers! one meal of cheating will not kill your diet!
