Happy Summer fitness fam! if any of you are like me, you are enjoying the long sunny days, being outside without bundling up for 10 minutes beforehand, the constant outfit involving flip flops And going for long runs in shady trails. One thing that can get lost in the shuffle with these crazy summer days and vacations is hydration.
I will I’ll be the first to admit that I can get so busy in my day that I forget to grab my water bottle and take a sip. In this constant round of heat for the next couple months it is important to make sure to take the time and create the habit of drinking water to keep hydrated.
Some signs to keep an eye out for, especially if you are a runner like me, are signs of dehydration since they can really mess with your health and fitness goals. According to webmd.com some of these signs can include being thirsty constantly, having a dry mouth, decrease in peeing and yellow/dark urination, dry and cool skin, headaches and cramps throughout your body. Beyond those earlier warning signs some other symptoms can include lack of sleep, dizziness, rapid heartbeat and breathing, sunken eyes and finally fainting.
I think we we can all agree that these are not symptoms we would like to experience! As many of you know it is always important to drink about a gallon of water a day, and during these hot summer months that is even more important! Please pay attention if you are experiencing any of these symptoms and drink more water!
